“Without courage you cannot practice any of the other virtues.”
~Maya Angelou
…but busy.
Nothing much to report. Have been working at one of the medical offices this week training and orientating one of our new hires as there is no one available to do it. She is good and experienced and it won’t take much longer to get her on her own. It has been good for me to get back out in the field and keep up with my skills. And get the pulse on what is happening out there as opposed to admin duties and teaching.
Other than that…nothing much.
Have done some writing but very little. Someone very near and dear steered me in a direction that I didn’t see before and will make a great difference in the story. Stay tuned. I WILL get this story finished.
Have a great Friday!!!!

“Music hath charms to soothe a savage breast, to soften rocks, or bend a knotted oak.”
~William Congreve
… has arrived!
Thanksgiving day dawned cold, dreary, and misty. But we did get about 30 minutes of snow that got everyone’s attention. The huge snowflakes drifted lazily down surprising even the weathermen. Of course, we all rushed out the door to twirl around and try to catch a flake or two on our tongues.
The kids thought we adults were nuts.
But it was just enough to get us excited and enjoy the brief weather treat.
Thanks to Dennie, a great Thanksgiving was had by all. Turkey and the trimmings with lots of desserts and wine with a football game and a couple of hands of cards thrown in. The company was wonderful also. Finally got to meet her in-laws and a few out-laws.
Thanks, again, Dennie! Owe ya bigtime!
The rest of the weekend was lazy. Braved the mall Friday afternoon. Wasn’t all that bad. I guess the crowds had thinned out once the early morning sales were over.
Watched Ghost Whisperer and Moonlight Friday night. Went to the movies Saturday and saw The Gangster which surprised me with how good it was. A little shopping. Fixed steaks one night, hot dogs and soup the next and tonight I have meatloaf baking.
Did a tiny bit of reading on the new JD Robb. An even tinier bit of writing done.
But, tomorrow, work beckons. :help:
Not a very exciting blog, but the four days off was wonderful and much needed.
How was your weekend?

“Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.”
~Buddha
…for 2007!
Buddha may have something with this quote. But not everything I agree with.
I’ve learned not to dwell in the past as it doesn’t do anything but cause harm both mentally and emotionally. But there is nothing wrong with taking certain moments of it, dusting it off, and reliving it. The cherished, fun, happy moments not only give you that warm, fuzzy feeling as you walk down memory lane, but plants seeds of well being. Even the sad, difficult, and trying memories of the past shows how far you have come, what you have accomplished and that you actually have the fortitude to make it even further. Even though you don’t think you can.
I believe in dreams. Dreams of the future are crucial to present.
But, right now, TODAY, go make your memories, dream a little of the future, but don’t forget to enjoy the day as it is the only Thanksgiving 2007 we will be allowed.
Off to friends to enjoy turkey and dressing…mashed potatoes…pumpkin pie…key lime pie…lemon meringue pie…
Happy Thanksgiving!

“Demolish the bridges behind you…then there is no choice but to move forward.”
~Firdtjof Nansen
…I have listened to Christmas music already.
I shook my head in dismay at the Christmas decorations up in the stores before Thanksgiving and expressed disbelief at the Holiday tunes on the radio. But, I am ashamed to say that, on occasion, I will switch the channel to listen to a song or two.
Not that I am in any hurry for the season to begin. Haven’t even made my list yet. Or thought about it.
But, I have met some new friends. Hello to KB, Miss K, and Miss T.
And have been to the Aquarium. And had a wonderful time.
And actually remembered to bring my camera.
I love waterfalls
I hate snakes
I love penguins
I hate…whatever this ugly thing is. Although it really is alive and some kind of fish.
