…here tonight. But it’s Christmas time. Everyone knows I am usually so upbeat, but I can deserve a moment or two thankyouverymuch.

In spite of all the hustle and bustle and the parties and the food and drink and the presents, there are more important things we need to focus on.

Things that truly matter.

A very wise, loving man teaches me by his example.

To listen. To watch. To feel. To know.

If we still our souls for a moment we hear what is not being said. We see what is not being shown. We feel what flutters beneath the surface. And then we know what we should have known all along.

He is a very wise, loving man indeed.

For all the chaos in HWB’s life, he also had wonderful, true ideas and did a lot of good. Have you ever read OTHER POWERS by Barbara Goldsmith? Read it — it’s a social history of post-Civil War and HWB’s a big part of it.

And, the words are true.

Stillness is so important, because then we can let the space fill we love.
