…turned out to be a wuss.

When I woke yesterday morning, I checked the temp and it was a cool 31 degrees. Yes!

But it didn’t last long and before noon, I was shedding my sweater and rolling up the sleeves of my blouse. Can’t believe we are having such a warm winter. I know it’s not because of global warming as the north is buried under feet and feet of snow. Next time they get all hyped about a cold front here, I am not going to fall for it.

Tried a new recipe tonight. Chicken lettuce wraps. I thought they were great! Hopefully, another winner. I think it was liked by all. None left. Consisted of chicken, garlic, onions, peppers, ginger, soy sauce, rice vinegar (vinegar made out of rice? Who knew?)! Of course, not as good as PF Changs. Haven’t been to my favorite restaurant in awhile and miss it. May be time to beg for a trip. Also tried a new wine. Wilhelm Bergmann Riesling – Spatlese. I am nowhere near a connoisseur of wine, but I know when I like something. And I like – very much. 😯

Good food, good company, good conversation, good wine. A little TV. Great evening! Could have something to do with me getting home early tonight after being so late the last few nights and with the stress at work letting up, my report done…just can’t figure out how the house can get so messy when I just cleaned it!

Tonight is Lost.

Wow, your little calendar on the right is all the way up to July…oh wait, I get it. It’s on European dates with the day then the month. Very confusing for non-Europeans.
Any time you need to borrow a cookbook, you know where to look.

Brenda: Thanks for pointing that out. I was trying to figure out how to fix it.

Hello,

I hope that I’m not intruding, but I am the owner of the Wilhelm Bergmann brand and I just wanted to say that I’m glad you like our wine and have told your friends so.

I only found your blog because I was bored and decided to check Google to see if we had any reviews. I’d never done this before, so it was a surprise to find one that was actually fresh.

I really like your site. Like everyone else in the wine business, I want to quit and become a writer, so I am finding it very interesting.

Unfortunately, I am reminded of Sartre’s statement that one is not a writer until one writes something, and so far (at least since college) my writing has been largely confined to business letters, wine labels, and eulogies. Since Ralph Waldo Emerson’s family owned a winery, perhaps I have that in common with him.

A couple of years ago I decided to write a coffee table book about the liquor advertising in the golden age of magazines, but my copyright lawyer said that getting
permission to reproduce the ads would be nearly impossible. It would even be
hard to figure out who owned them since all of them would have been at least forty years old, and some would be seventy.

As it is, I am getting closer to retirement, and am spending a lot of time reading and
making notes. In the meantime, I am a rank amateur wondering if my memory will
still be with me when I am ready to use it.

Anyway, It’s nice to meet you.
