Irish Blessing of the Day:
I was talking the other night to some friends and we were discussing how we get these fantastic epiphanies in the worst places possible. While driving, while in the grocery store, while sitting in church…areas where you should be concentrating on the task at hand. And, because you can’t stop in the middle of the road, in the middle of the meat department, or in the middle of the preacher’s prayer and write it down, then it is long gone by the time you get to a pen and paper.
Well, it happened to me today at work. I had been working my way through a plot problem and not having any luck until ‘the great epiphany’ struck. By the time I could get to a place I could stop and write it down, I’d lost it. I hate when that happens. Tomorrow, I am going to the same office and stand in the same place and see if I can remember. I hear that works sometimes.
You HAVE to go to Voodoo’s Room and read today’s blog. I weeped with laughter at her signs of the zodiacs. She is a hoot!
And Mary’s husband is at it again. Be sure and read how he communes with nature.
And Daisy Dexter Dobbs. She ALWAYS makes me laugh.
Dennie’s new book will be available on March 14! Check out her contest for a free copy on her blog.
Nothing else much today. American Idol, Lost, and Invasion all starts in 15 minutes.

Irish Blessing of the Day:
Busy last few days working and catching up. Just a few more minute things – such as doing income tax – and will have my first to do list finished. Then the second list starts. Today was full of appointments-to-do. :yuck:
I can’t believe it is only two months to our chapter’s conference. The contest results are trickling in slowly and we seem to be ahead of the game at the moment. Worked with Brenda today on the print unpublished and pleased to say we are getting quite a few positive remarks about the quality of the entrants.
Had my dentist appointment today and the staff there is the coolest. The hygienist had me laughing hysterically and that’s hard to do with her hands in my mouth. ‘Course I am easily entertained.
Tonight is American Idol. This is the last week before the final twelve. Interesting to see who goes home this week. For the guys, I am pulling for Ace and Taylor. For the girls, I like Kelly and… I can’t think of her name at the moment. My son thinks Paris is a sure thing.
Tomorrow night is Lost! Yay! Brenda had taped the night where the smoke thingy confronts Mr. Eko and I finally got to see the faces in the smoke today when she played it for me while waiting for my car to be fixed. We kept running the tape back and forth, back and forth until we started laughing at ourselves.
But I am easily entertained.

| Sandy’s Random Movie Quote:
‘Here’s looking at you kid.’ – Rick, Casablanca |
Saturday. My second favorite day of the week.
Ran to the bank this am with the new treasurer of our RWA chapter and got her signed up so she can start her new position
Off to Starbucks drive through for vanilla lattes (and green tea frappacino for her cutie patootie son)
Dropped stuff off at Brenda’s regarding the conference baskets
Home again
Met DH and #3 son for lunch at Chili’s,
Home again for two hour nap,
Shopped with DH at Sam’s for groceries
Home again to crash on sofa to watch ‘Walk the Line’ with Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon.
Seems to be a pattern here. I am either doing something that involves food or napping.
The movie was pretty darn good. Surprised me that I liked it.
St. Patrick’s day is coming up and thought that every day until then I would put up an Irish Blessing from my Irish Blessings book I picked up at B&N. Didn’t realize there were so many of them.
Okay, I know I am avoiding writing today, but tomorrow DH has offered to cook Sunday dinner so I can put butt in chair and work. Sweet man. I better have something to show at the end of the day or he won’t fall for that one again

That’s exactly the color my hair turned out to be after leaving the salon this week. It’s been a very long time since I have cried after having my hair done. My hair stylist was even upset as she kept mumbling how my hair ‘brought out the gold’ whatever that meant. So I trekked back today and she tried to highlight it to tone some of the ‘gold’ down. Didn’t do much better according to Dennie and my DH. But there is no way after everything we tried, I would let anyone put any more chemicals on my head. Gold is better than bald in my book.
Want a good laugh? Check out Mary’s blog today. One funny lady. Hmmm, she should be a writer!
On the news side, congrats on Mik having her ‘The Adventures of Ransom and Fortune’ serial’s release moved up to April 12, 2006 by Inara Press. I started the serial while it was at KIC and it really rocks.

This is where I would love to visit. Or maybe even live. I won’t take up much room. And I am neat and will do my own laundry. {{sigh}}

On the writing front, I got a couple of pages done in between American Idol and Lost tonight!

Have you ever had those days where your mind is going a million miles an hour? Where ideas and things you want to do, to accomplish, to start, to finish are bottled up inside screaming to get out? You want to do it all. To accomplish everything in the space of a day, a week, or even a month?
That’s the way I have been feeling lately. There is so much to do and so little time to do it. I think I am too old to be ADHD 😕 but can definitely emphasize with those that are.
I am presently working on two stories right now with a third in the ‘it’s rolling around in my mind’ stage. Neither of the two stories are getting very far along, but hope to set goals for them and get moving.
I wanna finish my paranormal THIS YEAR!
I wanna finish my sweet romance by December 1.
I wanna have my children’s book outlined by this summer.
I have realized that I will have to give up some things to accomplish these.
And, I have started by having my acrylic nails removed two weeks ago. The time and money I spend on those can go toward my writing.
I have also started closing the doors and drawers of the closets and cabinets that need cleaning. By closing the doors to my sons rooms and only cleaning the rooms that I have to live in will give me more time to write. When the smell gets too bad, I’ll hire a cleaning service to deal with it or make the boys do it themselves.
I will spend more of my weekends writing instead of doing things that amount to nothing. What time I spend with my husband will become more quality time instead of quantity time.
And I will run errands, grocery shop, and do laundry only on a specified day of the week.
Brenda and Dennie, have you picked yourself up off the floor yet? 😆
Sandy and Mik, thanks for the inspiration!
I know I can do it!
Hey, Cece’s back! Check out her new blog and find out the fabulous news she has to share!
Dennie’s new book is counting down! On March 14, check out my blog for details!

Today is errand day, off to get those millions done.

Just home from Southeast Texas area celebrating my grandtwins’ third birthday and I must repeat again and again, that grandchildren are so much more fun to have, that I should have had them first! They love you so unconditionally and sweetly that it proves there is such a thing as ‘pure love’.
Saw for my own eyes that Southeast Texas is still not fully recuperated from Hurricane Rita. Although most everything commercial is up and running finally, there’s still so much work left to do on the private front. Everyone I spoke to says that they are not able to get workers out to their homes for still several months yet as the waiting list is so long. Everywhere you go, blue-tarp covered roofs dot the area. Gigantic trees still lie twisted and broken and uprooted in some of the rural areas. I saw several outbuildings in back yards with huge trees lying on top of them like toothpicks which, of course, totally destroyed the structure. Many store and restaurant signs still have the glass missing out of them, just the posts standing. Makes it hard to find a particular place you are looking for with the signs all gone.
Nature can be a mean beast for sure!
On the happy front, got to see relatives I haven’t seen in a long time. Sometimes that is good, sometimes…maybe not :eyes:
